More StockWe have now been trading for over two years in our own shop at 58, Long Street as "Muir:Antiques for Modern Interiors", and will continue with our theme of mixing 1930's & 1940's and even more recent antiques with more traditional items, and hope to offer a wider range of stock. The shop is always open (even on sundays), except when we travel abroad on buying trips, so still best to call us on +44(0)1666 504522, or on our mobile - +44(0)7836 758416.TetburyInteriors.com at The Old Chapel, 47, Long Street, is open seven days a week. Tel: 01666 500300. To visit their website just CLICK HERE to go straight to it. Please see a general display of our stock at Tetburyinteriors.com in the Old Chapel - the building provides, without doubt, the best display space in Tetbury: come and visit as soon as you can. To give you an idea of our stock in the new shop, please see below. ![]() Just back from France, where we found these three chrome-plated mascots from 1950s American cars - I've not yet had a chance to identify the cars they came from, but they are very interesting shapes - one is pure Flying Wing, and another is very much like some of the turbine images used on some 1950s GM cars. Priced between £95 and £115 each. A most interesting, and ingenious, design of sofa: as you see, the sofa is black leather and chrome, but is modular, and so, the sections could be unbolted from each other and the outer pair re-bolted to make a two-seat sofa and a single, armless, chair. It measures just over 2 metres wide, and is priced at £625. NEW STOCK for MID-JULY 2010. A pair of Chrome & Black leather armchairs dating from the 1970s. The originals were designed for the Bauhaus by Marcel Breuer in the 1920s. Lovely thick leather. Price £375 for the pair. Just on display at our new space in the Old Chapel, is this fabulous rosewood sideboard with rectangular chrome ski feet. A beautiful design, and complements our Pieff Mandarin pieces. It measures 1.52metres long X 46cm deep X 67cm high, and is priced at £850. A very interesting oil painting on canvas on board of a Northern Industrial Port scene, harking back to the end of the 19th Century. It is signed "A Oliver 1973", and measures 218cm X 97cm, and has JUST SOLD. A circular glass dining table, sitting on a chrome tube base in an unusual design. Very useful, and as you see from the photo, will take six dining chairs (these are our David Rowland chairs which are sold)at a pinch. Price £285. We have just located a new source of really wonderful South American Cow Hides in a great variety of colours. They are all very large - from 160cm X 200cm and upwards, and come in a range of colours - black, black and white, tri-colour (like this example), brindle, and zebra printed. Prices range from £200 and upwards, so please contact us and let us know what we you are looking for, and I am sure we can find what you want. Small items of furniture, such as pouffes and ottomans, covered in a variety of cow hides are also available - please enquire. ![]() Showing here is a lovely and very dramatic chrome, ten-light chrome chandelier dating from the 1970s. It is approx. 55cm in diameter, and has cast glass round "prisms" in front of each bulb. Rewired. Price £285. A very useful, and sought-after pair of French Art Deco bedside tables in burr walnut veneer. They measure 50cm wide X 35cm deep X 60cm high and are priced at £425 for the pair. An exceptionally well designed three-piece suite, consisting, as most such do, of a two-seat sofa and two matching armchairs. The design is redolent of many from the 1970s, but we cannot yet put a name to the designer, but it is similar to a William Plunkett design. It is formed from chrome-plated flat steel, which unfortunately is not in the best of condition, and upholstered in the original green jersey fabric, also not at its best, but still original. We offer it as an original set at a price of £825 for the suite: there will be those happy to enjoy it as pure retro - others will feel it merits re-upholstering in a more current funky fabric: we have some ideas, including perhaps a Marrimekko fabric, or at the other extreme, how about dark grey flannel? Please contact us to discuss. NEW STOCK for EARLY-JUNE 2010. A photo showing three lovely coloured glass French Soda Syphon bottles, with acid-etched graphics - all ready to be converted into table, or bedside, lamps. Priced at £55 each. We have just bought this lovely display mannequin because she has such a lovely face! She is without arms (we have disguised this fact, using a lovely 19th Century lace evening jacket), and is a torso to the waist only, but a very fine figure. Price £225. A pair of upholstered armchairs, very much in the style of the 1970s CASA PUPO. The reeded frame is lacquered black, and they have been very well upholstered recently in a good diamond-pattern terra cotta linen. Price £325 the pair. NEW STOCK for SEPTEMBER 2010. A very nicely-detailed wall mirror which has been repainted in a very attractive grey paint with white highlights. It measures 150cm high X 8 cm wide, and is priced at £325. NEW STOCK for END-APRIL 2010. A pair of chairs in Pieff's best design - the Mandarin. These are in very dark brown leather and are priced at £1,350 for the pair. NEW STOCK for SEPTEMBER 2010. Another unusual piece of fabric, rather in the style of Lucienne Day, although this example is French, and is called "Cubisme". It measures 230cm long X 122cm wide, and is priced at £95. If you visit John Lewis's site, you will see that their entire decorative collection for Autumn 2010 recalls their early archive designs from the 1950s. Our piece is an original. NEW STOCK for SEPTEMBER 2010. We are also very pleased with three different table lamps we have bought on this extended trip to France - this is just one. It is in chrome plate(with a little rust), and has a tubular chrome shade cut at an angle at both ends, and this can be angled up or down, to give completely different light effects and illumination. Working order, but french wiring. Price £145. NEW STOCK for SEPTEMBER 2010. Another of our newly-acquired French table lamps. This is in black & chrome, and can be adjusted fore & back, again to alter the position & "throw" of the light. Working order, but french wiring.Price £135.![]() Back to top CLICK HERE |
